For fine and ultra-fine waves: offset printing

Offset printing is a flat printing process in which areas to be printed and areas not to be printed are on the same plane. Areas that are not to be printed require appropriate treatment not to accept the offset color. To ensure that the printed image is nice and clear, white, fine-wave cardboard (E or F wave) is used in offset printing. This very expensive process is particularly suitable for medium to long runs of high-quality product packaging and displays.

For small print runs: digital printing

Print images are transferred directly from a file or a data stream to the printing machine and placed on the carrier material in the digital printing process. Therefore, a printing former is not necessary with this process, which leads to comparatively low production costs and thus also makes small and very small print runs possible.

With digital printing, product and outer packaging made of corrugated cardboard can be printed quickly and attractively - regardless of the box's color. Digital printing for corrugated cardboard is still in its infancy, but there are already prospects for corresponding high-performance inkjet devices. So it is only a matter of time before larger editions can also be digitally printed.
